The process:

You e-mail me high quality photos to work from (for local commissions, I prefer to set up an appointment for sketches and pictures)
After reviewing the photos and discussing size, composition and style (impressionistic/realistic), the contract is signed
The first 1/2 of the commission fee is disbursed to begin the commission
I make a rough sketch of the portrait composition and email it for your approval
I make a drawing and begin painting, while e-mailing progress pictures to you as needed
I complete the painting and e-mail you a scanned image for approval and adjustments
I make final adjustments based on feedback and send a final image
The remaining payment is disbursed and the painting is delivered!

I use professional quality watercolor paints and archival grade acid-free paper to ensure that your painting will last. Most commissions take 10-15 weeks to complete and come with a Certificate of Authenticity.

(Please note that prices reflect a typical “impressionistic” portrait from the shoulders up with simple clothing and background. "Realistic" portraits contain a greater level of detail and cost approximately 50% more. See examples below.)
